The Official Envoy of the Quartet to the Middle East, Tony Blair, called on Israel to stop their military operations in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and attacking the Palestinian people.
He stressed that the Israeli authorities should stop limiting the freedom of movement within the West Bank, killing civilians and the mass arrests.
During his meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu, he criticized the kidnapping of the three Israeli settlers in the West Bank 12 days ago, and he asked the kidnappers to release them immediately.
The Head of the United Nations Department of Political Affairs, Jeffrey D. Feltman, has also called on Israel to stop their attacks in the Palestinian Territories occupied in 1967, and not to use collective punishments against the Palestinians.
He declared in front of the United Nations Security Council that “We are worried about the arresting of around 350 Palestinians and the 4 deaths, including that of a minor the 20th of June. Also about the high number of injuries, which continues increasing because of the Israeli military operation.”
Additionally, he asked the UN Security council to set up a meeting to discuss the situation in the Middle East.
